The purpose of the Dr. Phillip O’Shaughnessy Walk/Run for Health is to raise funds for Matthew 25 Health & Dental Clinic, a local nonprofit organization that seeks to provide free health and dental care to Allen County residents. Matthew 25 does not and never has received any government monies such as Medicare or Medicaid. All revenues come from donations, grants, and fund raisers.  All proceeds will directly benefit Matthew 25.

Dr. Phillip O’Shaughnessy Walk/Run for Health Event:  The event is planned for July 17, 2010 at Foster Park here in Fort Wayne. Registration prior to July 10, 2010 is $15.00. Registration after July 10, 2010 is $20.00. To attend the race is free and open to all, come down and cheer on the participants! The event is a “points” race monitored by Fort Wayne Track Club. Matthew 25 Health & Dental Clinic is the only full-time, full-service clinic of its kind in the region.  With a staff of over 400 healthcare and lay volunteers, Matthew 25 provides free medical, dental, and vision services to more than 30,000 residents of Allen County.  For over 34 years, Matthew 25 has come alongside thousands of uninsured, low income residents, filling a critical need that no other organization does.
