MUNCIE, Ind. -- College Sports Madness selected Ball State senior guard Jauwan Scaife as its Mid-American Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Scaife scored 18 points Saturday and knocked down a deep, game-winning 3-pointer in the final second of Ball State's 85-82 win at Southeast Missouri. The senior guard also added five assists and grabbed three rebounds in the BracketBusters victory.

Scaife scored 14 of his points after halftime, including seven in the final 1:33. He shot 4-of-6 from the floor, 2-of-2 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the second half.

After a SEMO rally tied the score at 82-82 with 7 seconds left, Scaife brought the ball up the floor, used a screen from Tyler Koch and calmly buried a 25-footer from the right wing with 0.3 seconds on the clock.

He led four Cardinals in double-figures for the game, followed by Marcus Posley with 15 points, Matt Kamieniecki with 12 and Chris Bond with 11. Kamieniecki and Bond both finished with double-doubles.

Scaife, who is scoring 14.8 points per game for the season and 18.2 in conference play, is averaging 21.4 points over his past seven games. He was selected by the league office last week as the MAC West Division Player of the Week.

Ball State returns to MAC play Wednesday with the first of four remaining regular-season games. The Cardinals will host Central Michigan for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Worthen Arena.
