Tow Truck Drivers Have Their Hands Full

It's been a hectic 24 hours for folks like Keith Fryback. Fryback works for Fort Wayne's Parker's Towing. He's been a tow truck driver for the past 20 years. But, despite being a veteran, he admits, every winter is a new challenge.

"As the years go by, when the time comes around we either get snow like we did today where we had quite a bit of it or we get just a dusting on the ground" Fryback says.

With nearly a foot of snow falling in Fort Wayne, it's no surprise the roads were rough. In the past 24 hours, Indiana State Police responded to 17 crashes and nearly 50 slides-offs in Northeast Indiana, giving Fryback plenty to do.

"It's always rough when you get a call that children are involved. Those are the ones that really stick with you a long time" says Fryback.

Fryback says he started his shift at 5am today. It was a busy day, but thankfully, he says, not a long one, which is nice for not only him, but drivers in need.

"We found a long time ago if you have guys working 20 to 48 hours because that's a safety hazard for the person coming out" says.
