University of Saint Francis junior Scott Kohne has been named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2012 - 13 Division II Men's Basketball All-America team. The All-America Teams are selected by the NAIA All-America committee.

Kohne is a third team All-America.

This is the first All-America team selection for Kohne (Fort Wayne, IN / Bishop Dwenger H.S.), who was a two-time Crossroads League Player of the Week in 2012-13, a CL first-team all-conference selection and a CL All-Defensive Team selection who led the CL in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots for much of the season. The 6-foot-7 forward tied for the regular-season CL lead in double-doubles with 17 (points-rebounds), led the CL in blocked shots with 55, finished second in blocked shots per game (1.8), finished with a 19.0 scoring average (third in the CL), a 10.2 rebounding average (second in the CL) and eight NAIA Top 50 national statistics rankings.

"This is quite an accomplishment for Scott considering we didn't make it to the national tournament," USF Head Coach Chad LaCross said. "He earned it and he deserves all the credit. He had an excellent season."

Kohne scored in double figures in 17 straight games and in 29 of USF's 31 games in 2012-13. He scored 30 or more points twice with a season high 33 at Point Park on 11/17/12. His high in CL play was 32 at Marian on 1/10/13. Kohne scored 20 or more points in 12 games. He had 17 double figure rebound games, four double figure defensive rebound games with a high of 19 at Huntington on 1/19/13. His 315 total rebounds is No. 6 in the USF single-season list and his 235 total rebounds ranked No. 5 on the USF single-season list. Kohne also became the 31st player to join the USF 1,000 point list and climbed to No. 26 by the end of the season with 1,040 points, 588 in 2012-13.

USF finished 18-13 in 2012-13 in its third season under LaCross, who has had four players earn NAIA All-America in his three seasons as USF head coach.
