A community vigil has been set to take place near a Fort Wayne barbershop where a man was killed.  44-year-old Kenton Allen Beckman was getting his haircut at the E&M barbershop on Thursday when someone came in and shot and killed him.

The people at the E&M barbershop are still in a state of shock over what happened and cannot begin to articulate their feelings about it. But catty-corner to their location is the Unity Barbershop. Just 3 years ago, the exact same thing happened, where someone marched into their shop and shot a patron, waiting on a haircut.  The owner of that shop says this has to stop.

Foundation One owns the Unity Barbershop.  When he is not cutting hair, he can be found out in his neighborhood talking about peace.  He says the violence paints the whole Southeast side in a bad light.

The shootings are bad for business.  Foundation One says "It brings fear upon the community and people be afraid to come to the barbershop because of a shooting or because of a shooting or because of a murder and they have their right because don't nobody want to die just to get no haircut."

When the vigil is going on near the shop, those who knew Beckman personally say they'll likely be at his funeral, which is Saturday at 10a.m.

The Peace and Justice Commission of Allen County is holding their vigil the same day at 12:15.
