Veteran Suicide Rate Rises in 2012

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WFFT) - The suicide rate of military service members is on the rise. The army reported on Thursday that more American soldiers died of suicide than in combat last year.
A record number of 325 soldiers are believed to have commited suicide in 2012. A new study from the U.S. Army Public Heath Command found that there was an average of one death per day from veteran suicide.
Army officials say total military deaths in Afghanistan for 2012 were 313.
