ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW senior guard Frank Gaines has been named the Summit League Co-Player of the Week announced by the league office on Monday morning.

Gaines, who scored a career-high-tying 32 points in the team's loss to Omaha, earns his second career Player of the Week honor. He also pulled down a season-high nine rebounds, making 11-of-19 shots from the field, and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe. His 11 field goals made are a new career-best, as the senior climbed into 25th in Summit League history in points, and 10th in free throws made.

For the season, Gaines averages 19.0 points per game, including a pair of 32-point games, and nine total games over 20 points. He has hit at least 10 free throws in a game five times this season, and is 142-of-186 on free throws for the year. He also averages 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game on the year.

Gaines shares the honor with Oakland's Drew Valentine who scored 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, also against Omaha.

The Mastodons return to action on February 7, when the squad hosts South Dakota State in a 7 p.m. tip-off at the Memorial Coliseum.
