Indiana Tech Women's Hoops Recap

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's basketball team went 13-18 this season and posted an 11-11 record in conference play to finish in sixth place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.

Preonda Reese, from Northrop High School, played in 31 games this season, averaged 3.5 points per game. The 5-foot-5 guard scored a season-high 10 points in the Warriors win over Northwestern Ohio on Feb. 9.

Onnie Jordan, from Harding High School, played in 9 games this season, averaged 1.3 points per game. She scored a season-high 8 points in the win over Lawrence Tech on Dec. 1.

Rachael Kruse, from Homestead High School, played in 31 games this season, averaged 17.0 points per game. The 5-foot-7 guard was named to the WHAC All-Conference Team and was a WHAC Player of the Week selection for her outstanding play. She scored a season-high31 points in the win over Lourdes University on Dec. 15.

The IPFW women's softball team are headed to the NCAA tournament after beating South Dakota state 7 to 4 today.

Infielder Ashley Bousquet also became IPFW's all time softball hits leader and head coach Amy Tudor became the winngiest coach in program history.

Fort Wayne, IN --- Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry today presented legendary Fort Wayne Komets broadcaster Bob Chase with a "Key to the Fort" award at a ceremony in the Mayor's office.

Family, friends, and representatives from the Fort Wayne Komets and WOWO Radio attended today's event.

TinCaps Shut Out in Peoria

Peoria, IL - Peoria Chiefs pitcher Tyrell Jenkins needed no help Sunday afternoon, limiting the Fort Wayne TinCaps to only three hits, as he pitched a complete game shutout, leading his team to a 1-0 win. The scoreless defeat marked the first time in 2013 that the TinCaps have been shut out.
