Thousands gathered in Downtown Fort Wayne Wednesday night to celebrate the start of the holiday season.

This year's Night of LIghts kicked off on Main Street at the Aunt Millie's Bread Company Downtown. Thousands of lights now adorn the side of the community center.

As the evening progressed, thousands of people walked through downtown to witness the lighting of many of the city's light displays.

The oldest and largest display is the Santa Claus light display on the side of the PNC Bank building on Main Street. Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry and officials from PNC Bank ushered in the 33-year-old tradition.
