Today Governor Mike Pence met with the Decatur Rotary to outline his budget for the state of Indiana, which includes a 10% reduction for the personal income tax.
"We're going to continue to take our case for an honestly balanced budget one that funds our priorities including increased funding for roads and schools and one that includes across the board income tax relief for every hoosier." The Governor said.
Lowering Indiana's Tax rate was one of the main ideas Pence discussed while running for governor last year. The Governor wants to trim Indiana' income tax rate from 3.4% TO 3.06%.
The reduction proposal faces opposition in the Indiana House among Republicans and Democrats. If Pence's plan is approves, Indiana would have the lowest income tax rate in the country according to the tax foundation.
