FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IPFW senior Frank Gaines has been named the College Sports Madness Summit League Player of the Week, after setting the career scoring mark at IPFW.

Gaines averaged 21.5 points per game during the week, hitting 13-of-30 shots (43.3%) from the field, and four total three-point baskets. He pulled down seven rebounds and dished out four assists, helping the Mastodons, along with Omaha, to one of the two 2-0 weeks among Summit League teams, including one of four Bracketbuster wins in the League over the weekend.

In the game against Bowling Green, Gaines eclipsed the previous scoring mark of 1,765 points, previously held by Sean Gibson (1989-93), and has 1,773 heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The Mastodons, at 14-16 on the season, are riding a current four-game win streak, and put that streak on the line on Saturday, March 2 when the squad travels to Rochester, Mich., for their regular season finale.
