Fort Wayne, IN - To celebrate the start of the TinCaps fifth season playing at Parkview Field, the team

will be giving away $5,000 to one lucky fan on Opening Night, April 11th. All fans in attendance will be

eligible to win this guaranteed cash prize.

"We wanted to mark the start of year number five with something significant," stated TinCaps

President, Mike Nutter. "We kept thinking of clever things to give away or do and then we decided that

what people like best is cash, so that's what we decided to give away. The best part about this give

away is that there will be waves of prizes before we get to the cash, so a lot of people will walk away

happy."

As fans enter the ballpark on Thursday, April 11th each will receive a scratch off card as part of the

qualification process. Certain cards will be designated as instant winners, with those fans receiving a

TinCaps game-worn red jersey, which the team will be wearing that night. The TinCaps red jerseys are

a part of history, as each player ever to play for the team since 2009 has worn these red jerseys.

"We have a cycle for replacing jerseys each year, and 2013 was the time for the red jerseys to be

replaced," said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President of Marketing. "These are worn on Sundays and

special occasions, so these jerseys have seen a lot of history in just the first 4 seasons. Fans will be

receiving a real keepsake item."

Once these select fans are determined, the final $5,000 winner will be selected from among these

jersey winners. The final selection process will be announced at the game on Opening Night. "We like

to keep a little suspense with our promotions," stated Limmer. "Opening Night is always an event in

downtown Fort Wayne with sell outs each of the first four seasons. This is just one more way to add

some excitement to the night and show our appreciation for the support this community has shown the

TinCaps and Parkview Field."

TINCAP SCAVENGER HUNT STARTS TODAY TO PRE-QUALIFY FOR $5,000 PRIZE

In the five weeks leading up to Parkview Field's 2013 Opening Day on April 11th, baseball fans around

Fort Wayne will need to be on the lookout for TinCaps mascot, Johnny, for a chance to be pre-qualified

to win the $5,000 Opening Night prize. The TinCaps have partnered with business locations around

Fort Wayne for a scavenger hunt that will provide the opportunity to win a number of TinCaps-themed

prizes, including tickets to the first game of the season at Parkview Field.

Beginning today, the TinCaps will be using their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to launch

the scavenger hunt. Clues will be given out each day during the week, directing fans to a specific

location within city limits where they will find a large wall decal, featuring a picture of Johnny TinCap

holding bags of money. When fans find that decal, they must take a picture of themselves with Johnny

and submit it to the TinCaps. Methods of entry include posting on the TinCaps' Facebook page

(Facebook.com/TinCaps), tweeting the photo to the TinCaps (@TinCaps), using the hashtag #TinCaps

when posting to Instagram or by emailing the photo to Johnny@TinCaps.com.
