ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals and ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets, announced today that RW Matt Kennedy has been reassigned from the Admirals to the Komets.

Kennedy, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, has appeared in nine games with the Admirals this season, recording 17 penalty minutes. In 10 games with Fort Wayne earlier this season, Kennedy recorded an assist and six penalty minutes.

The 23-year-old Richmond Hill, Ontario, native has played 120 career AHL games between the Syracuse Crunch, Charlotte Checkers and Norfolk Admirals, netting six goals, 15 assists and 152 penalty minutes.

Kennedy was a fifth-round selection (131st overall) of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The Anaheim Ducks acquired Kennedy along with Stefan Chaput in exchange for Ryan Carter on November 23, 2010. Kennedy played 260 games of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League between the Guelph Storm and Barrie Colts, netting 90 goals and 178 points.
