breaking news
Police say 16 year old, Faith Mendez, of Decatur was driving on Winchester Road in Adams County when she went off the road, overcorrected, and lost control.
Her car rolled and she was thrown from the car because she was not wearing her seat belt.
She was taken to Lutheran Hospital with hear injuries.
Investigators say text messages had been sent and received on Mendez’s cell phone right before the crash.
A new state law goes into effect July 1, 2009 banning teens from using cell phone while driving.
