Dozens of laid off Dana Corporation workers could get their jobs back as soon as next week. The United States Supreme Court has refused to intervene in Chryslers Bankruptcy proceedings. Indianas State treasurer had filed suit seeking to halt the bankruptcy proceedings in order to fight for pension money invested on behalf of more than 100K retirees.
Chrysler is free to pursue its schedule for bankruptcy proceedings. The Fort Wayne Dana plant gets fifty-five percent of its work from Chrysler. Dana makes axles for the Jeep Wrangler.
Dana laid off 107 workers last May. Jesse Myers, Chairman of the Bargaining Committee for the United Steel Workers Local 903 says many of those workers could get their jobs back. Workers would start back as soon as June 22. Dana would notify workers about being called back sometime around the end of the week of June 15.
