Fort Wayne Community Schools has announced it will reinstate 75 teaching positions. The positions were cut at the end of April because of concerns over the state budget. Now, many teachers are waiting to learn whether they'll be called back.
Earlier, the district eliminated 137 positions. Eighty-eight of those were cut over concerns about the state budget. But those concerns never materialized. And now, the district will reinstate 75 positions. The district’s spokeswoman says callbacks should begin around August 1st.
