The former sight of Omni Source, on the corner of Clinton and 4th street, might get a major face lift. Developers are talking about building a Water Park, live theater, IMAX theater, hotel, and on a more controversial note, Casino. Summit City Holdings Corporation has hired M.S.K.T.D. to build a mega entertainment area in the Wells Street area. The proposal was presented to Wells Corridor Business Associates, who are in favor of it. The President, Judi Wire, of the Wells Corridor Business Association says “Fort Wayne needs economic development Downtown, to draw people into the heart of the city. This appears to be a very well laid out development plan.” But what they were not shown is the plan to include a Casino. Summit Citys website includes a financial plan with a Casino. Wire says “We were not shown or told anything about a casino.” City Councilman, Tom Didier, says he is fully supportive of Summit Citys development plan, but is concerned by the possible casino. “I dont know if I would value having a casino in that particular area, but thats my own personal opinion.” FOX tried contacting both Summit City Holdings Corporation and M.S.K.T.D. They were unavailable for comment. M.S.K.T.D. Officials have made a presentation to the city. That presentation was only conceptual. City officials say they expect to see a more detailed plan in the next couple weeks. The project is expected to cost over 28 million dollars.
