A local effort to gather school supplies for children in need has recovered from a major shortfall.

The Salvation Army’s “Tools for School” lacked thousands of supplies last week. But organizers say many last-minute donations helped close the gap. Children started picking up supplies Tuesday.

FOX Fort Wayne talked with a woman whose children received supplies from “Tools for School.” To hear her story, tune in to FOX Fort Wayne News First at Ten or click on the video following the newscast.
