Child Custody Battle

Carolee Gadsby is a foster mom. She’s received custody of two girls almost six years ago. The girls came from a rough background. One of them was sexually abused while her father watched.
For several years, Carolee says, the girls made progress. But two and a half years ago things changed. Carolee says the girls' biological parents and grandmother kidnapped them during a visit. Plus, a judge in Michigan gave custody to the parents, despite the fact that Carolee was already their legal guardian. That order was later withdrawn, but the damage was done.
Additionally, the girls are now subject to court-ordered visits with their grandmother. They are also seeing their parents during those visits, Carolee says. The visits are negatively impacting the girls, she adds.
Carolee wants things to change. Among other things, she's pushing for a National Child Custody Database to
ensure consistency in dealing with custody issues. To get involved, contact her at kidnappedkids@aol.com
