Kruse Car Show & Auction Cruises into Auburn

This year marks the 39th consecutive time the Kruse International Car show &Auction cruises into Auburn. This year the nearly week-long event is expected to bring 250-thousand people to the small city in northern Indiana. It is set to feature 5000 classic cars like a 1929 Zepher, a rare 1905 queen, and a 1932 Ford Redster Pickup.
“Alot of the people who come to the auction and festival will book their rooms a year ahead of time” says Richard Martin of the Dekalb County Visitors Bureau.
The auction is estimated to bring in 3-million dollars to a town with just around 12-thousand people.
“There are people that can buy a car with 100-thousand dollars. They can buy anything they want” says Dean Kruse, President of Kruse International.
And Kruse certainly hopes they do…buy cars that is. After struggling financially this year, he says this auction means a little more than past ones.
John Bacheldor was one of the elite 8 people that helped Kruse get the show into gear some 40 years ago.
He says he’s amazed at how the amount of people coming to the show and auction “turns this sleepy little town in Auburn, Indiana into 250 to300-hundred-thousand people” says Bacheldor.
