Today teed off the start of the Junior PGA Championship Tour right here in Fort Wayne. All those involved are liking it here.

"People are so nice. the volunteers do an amazing job we really appreciate them. they are out here and so welcoming."

"Fort Wayne has been a spectatcular venus once you come off the air plane the people greeting you at the airport. the spectators, the volunteers helping out. it's the 2nd year at sycamore hills and it's so special. everyones gotten know everyone a little bit."

For one golfer fortwayne is comfortable.

"I've always like fort wayne. my dad and my family is from here so right now i'm at home. I love sycamore. i've played here several times. it's a great event."

Another golfer saw great success at last year's tournament.

"I just want to think i'm coming here again just to play my best and anything can happen here in the field. i'm trying not to expect too much of myself before i end up pressuring myself out."

The young golfers are adjusting their games to sycamore hills.

"Well it fills my games because it's very long and off the tee. i can just keep it some where around the green and it will be okay."

"Every course is different and you adjust, hit a drawl, face adjust to it. i love this course and these greens are pretty quick. i'm not used to it being from hawaii, our greens are not this quick."

Although fort wayne has held the tournament for three years, it could be staying.

"Great place to be, a championships venue. we're talking about it right now. who knows it could be where we are for quite a few years."

Making it to the tounrament is one of golf's biggest honors.

"For those kids it's just an exciting appearance that they wouldn't normally get. some will go on to careers on the tour like tiger woods and phil mickelson and several others. for some this will be their experience. this is the championsip experience of a lifetime."

Although today was an exciting day, there is still much more gold to be played. the tournament does not wrap up until friday. visit fort wayne home page dot net for more information.
