"It took a little bit of getting used to but we got into pretty quick," said Senior Fullback David Bojrab.
"Last we got a new coach in the middle of the summer so it was hard adjusting to that," said Senior Running back/Cornerback Justin Fisher.
"Last year I took the job July 16h, which was two days before our training camp. So there was obviously a transitional phase for the players between the players in the old system and the new one," said Doug Dinan, head coach.
This year they know it all.
"Having him this whole year has helped out, so we're not getting used to him like last year and having him this year is even better," said Fisher.
"The familiarity of this year of the program and the off season workouts and coming into two a days there's a lot more confidence. They know what the next drill it, what the next day is, they know what to expect. The schedule is now routine to them and the focus is now on how do we become better football players?" said Dinan.
"We have the attitude that we are ready to win and we want to win, we have the mindset and the attitude and we're ready and prepared this year," expressed Bojrab.
It may be august but carroll's players have high expectations.
"A championship for sure. I mean I know we're ready and that we can compete with anyone out there. We got the speed, we got the talent, we got the size and we're ready to go," said Bojrab.
"I see us going deep into the playoffs and a state championship maybe. Our defense and our offense is clicking right now," expressed Fisher.
But Coach Dinan is focused on taking it day by day.
"The playoffs are ten weeks away and our opening game is what is most important. Our opening game against Goshen. Honestly our concern is the next practice, the next day, the next drill, that's how we're going to win championships, by taking one thing at a time the little things have to add up the little things have to matter," Dinan told.
The team's leadership is their backbone.
"Our seniors are going a tremedous job leading. Our success will be determined by our senior leadership," Dinan said confidently.
"Our senior class is definetly what's going to lead the program and I think we can do it," exclaimed Bojrab.
Carroll kicks off their season next friday the 19th at home against Goshen.
