Fort Wayne's Parkview Field is going brown -- This week, the redevelopment commission agreed to spend nearly $150 million to replace the grass at the stadium.

Back in 2010, Parkview filed a lawsuit against the company that provided the seed for the grass, saying they provided a strain unsuitable for use on athletic fields.

The company, The Motz Group, agreed in a settlement to provide a new lawn at a discounted rate.

Officials say the grass is unsightly, and also provides a potential hazard for players because its shallow root system can make it easy to slide.

The grass will be replaced following this year's season. Opening day at Parkview Field is on April 5th.
