McGauley currently serves as the Allen County Recorder -- the department responsible for organizing and retaining documents. He says his experience streamlining that office has given him the know-how to streamline county government as a whole.

Two-term incumbent peters says he's created efficiencies as well through projects such as helping merge the city-count 911 system and planning departments.
