OSSIAN, Indiana - United States Congressman Marlin Stutzman took a break from his duties in Washington D.C. Friday to visit area businesses. He took a tour of Perma Column in Ossian, Ind. The company specializes in making concrete foundation systems for post frame buildings.
While there, WFFT took the opportunity to ask him who he thinks Mitt Romney should choose as his Vice Presidential running-mate. Stutzman said "Paul Ryan! I'm a big fan of Paul Ryan. He's got a good grasp of the budget situation in Washington. He also has talked about this for a long time. He's been thought campaigns." Stutzman also mentioned Ind. Governor Mitch Daniels and Marco Rubio as other good picks.
This week new broke the several U.S. Secret Service agents are accused of being involved in a prostitution scandal. Stutzman told WFFT the U.S. can't have this reputation. "It's obviously very disappointing. Individuals have to take personal responsibility for this, but there also has to be something done with the Secret Service administrations," said Stutzman.
WFTT also asked him for his thoughts on the heated Indiana Senate race between Dick Lugar and Richard Mourdock. Stutzman said "Campaigns are tough and you can tell this is a tight race because the gloves have come off. I'd like to see the candidates talk about our debt, the deficit, the spending problems we have in Washington, the tax reform that is needed."
Stutzman says he thinks both candidates will serve the district with distinction.
