Community Action of Northeast Indiana, or CANI, is giving away AC units to parents of young children and the elderly.
Summer heat is the second biggest weather-related killer. Last year, more than 200 people in the US died from heat-related illness.
You can apply for assistance at CANI's offices on Washington Street in Downtown Fort Wayne. Applicants must be at least 60 years old, or have a child under the age of five.
