This week, Senator Lugar's Fort Wayne regional office began archiving and destroying old documents that have accumulated over his decades in office.
Senator Lugar had four offices around Indiana that served as a local face for the senate seat, allowing constituents to come with policy questions and ask for help dealing with federal agencies.
Lugar's staff says it has not determined a final date for closure of the Fort Wayne office, but it will likely happen as soon as the current staff finds new jobs.
Meanwhile, the public can still contact Senator Dan Coats or Congressman Marlin Stutzman's offices, which provide similar services.
