Victims of domestic violence are getting some help from the state.  Indiana's Attorney General was in town today to unveil the "Hope Card."  WFFT's Sherrell Hubbard explains what the card is and how it works.

Attorney General Greg Zoeller says Hoosiers are blazing the trail in helping support victims of domestic violence.  YWCA Program director says victims of domestic violence are usually told they need multiple copies of their protective orders in multiple places.

Hardiman says this presented problems for victims because sometimes the order would be lost, damaged or stolen.

Now, victims can get a card that will list important information and help police work faster.  Instead of reading through a stack of paper work they can find out who the protective order is against and what they look like, fast.

Victims in Allen, Huntington, Dekalb, Whitley, Wells or Noble, if you would like to get a protective order or to get a Hope Card, you can call 1-800-441-4073.
