The parents of two murdered Fort Wayne teens have organized a fundraiser. They are hoping their garage slash bake sale will be the first of many fundraisers to come to raise $32,000 to buy the site where the crime happened and get it torn down

Back in December, 19- year olds Erin Jehl and her friend Ryann Tipton were shot to death by Bart Heller in a house on the 3200 of Lima Road.  Heller was 43-years old, he posted about the murders on Facebook and then turned the gun on himself.  Erin's mother told me he was obsessed with her daughter and had said if he couldn't have her nobody could and he'd hurt anyone else who stood in his way.

Lynn Schneider says she remembers it like it was yesterday.  Her daughter Erin Jehl had been murdered.  We had to pause during our interview.  She still gets choked up thinking about the terrified post-mortem look on Erin's face. Friends of Ryan and Erin say they'd like to put a memorial in place of the house instead.

The garage and bake sale is located in the Springwood housing division near Coldwater and Cook, at Shoner Park.  Several friends have pitched in items to sell and given their time to make sure the sale is a success.  Some shoppers who didn't know the victims say the Lima road house makes them queasy.

The fundraiser ended at 5 today and will run again from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. tomorrow. Family and friends say they don't expect to raise all the money in a weekend, but they say every little bit helps.

Schneider says she will not rest until it is bulldozed.
