Butler Man Exchanges Tattoos for Sex with Minors: Neighbors React

Jason Schwartz, of Butler is in jail and faces 22 charges-- including sexual misconduct with a minor, child pornography and tattooing minors.

Jason  Schwartz was previously arrested for burglary and battery. 

"There were a lot of girls down there with tattoos--fresh tattoos all underage," said Tia Dowden, Schwartz's neighbor. 

 Dowden knew that Schwartz gave tattoos--but says she didn't think anything of it

"We knew he was doing tattoos but we didn't know to the extent that it was we didn't now he was tattooing underage girls in exchange for sex," said Dowden. 

Dowden says it's hard for her to believe that Schwartz was able to commit sex crimes against children for as long as he did. 

"I don't understand how the parents involved just didn't see what was going on--obviously their daughters had tattoos," said Dowden. 

Dowden is aware of Schwartz's criminal history--which is why she makes sure her children keep their distance from his house. 

"These girls are young there's no way they had money for thee tattoos that they were getting and I know If I were a parent of one of these girls I would have raised holy hell," said Dowden.    

Phyllis Kubik is also Neighbors with Schwartz and is very careful as to where she allows her four granddaughters play.

"I don't let them come outside without me being with them and they know not to go near that place," said Kubik. 

Schwartz is being held in DeKalb County jail without bond and is expected to appear in court on November 21.
