Fire officials say they put a lot of man-power into putting out a structure fire at Frick's Lumber in
Orange Township Spokesman Jim Abbs says when they arrived they knew that the burning Frick's Lumber building couldn't be saved, so they focused on keeping the fire from spreading to the five surrounding structures.
The fire department spokesperson said they fought the fire for several hours and decided to let the rest of it burn itself out. He says this may be the worst fire that this town has seen within the last decade.
They call the process of letting it burn, a controlled burn. The passerby was a-mile and a half away when they saw flames. Abbs says it is a mystery why no one else had reported it sooner. He says the fire may have done most of it's burning on the inside of the structure where no one could see or someone may have seen it and did not report it.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
