TV ads, campaign signs, and old-fashion knocks on the door are all common during election season, but a kid's toy doesn't exactly scream 'politics.' That is until now.
It's known for its flat gray screen and red plastic frame and is easily one of the most memorable toys of the 20th century. Etch A Sketches are making a comeback and this time with a twist.
It all started with a metaphor by one of Mitt Romney's top aides. He was quoted as saying that after the primary Romney was going to do things differently, hit a reset button, and like an Etch A Sketch "shake it up."
So, Ohio Art, maker of the Etch A Sketch, decided to have a little fun with the Romney comment. And in honor of the election, they've created both blue and red Etch A Sketches.
"There's a blue button for the Democrats there's a red button for the GOP" says Allen County Republican Chair Steve Shine, who showed off the special edition Etch A Sketches to WFFT today.

Killgallon will attend next week's Allen County Republican Annual Bean Dinner and bring 100 of the special edition Etch A Sketches with him to give away and sell.
"I told him to bring 75 red and 25 blue, but I'm now thinking that I better ask for 200 red and no blue" jokes Shine. "I think that's (the special Etch A Sketches) going to add to the fun."
