U.S. Senate Candidate Joe Donnelly says when he first heard Mourdock's response, he was shocked.  At an Indianapolis press conference, Mourdock said that his point was the God creates life and rape is evil.  He accused others of misrepresenting what he said.

A defiant Mourdock says he'll make no apologies for saying that pregnancies resulting from rapes are something that God intended.  He says "I spoke from my heart, for speaking from the heart, from the deepest levels of my faith, I cannot apologize."

Mourdock says he does not think his remarks are going to hurt him come November.

Donnelly says he thinks voters will draw their own conclusions.  He says "They are smart, they understand the issues and they will make their own judgments."

Mourdock says he only thinks abortions should be permitted if the pregnancy endangers the life of the mother.
