Fort Wayne Police are investigating a shootout that happened on the South Side Tuesday afternoon between two moving vehicles. Stray bullets hit two homes in the area.

Around 2:30 on Tuesday afternoon, police responded to the corner of Lafayette Street and Senate Avenue on the South Side.

A witness tells WFFT two cars were shooting at each other while driving North on Lafayette Street. They are described as a red and blue Chevrolet Impala. The red Impala turned East down Senate Avenue and disappeared.

Two stray bullets struck a pair of houses along Lafayette Street. The first bullet is still lodged in the siding of one home.

The second bullet went though the front door of the other home. The resident tells WFFT it did damage to furniture inside. Police said there were no reports of injuries as a result of the incident.
