We're all looking for that perfect match. And much like a relationship, local businesses are also looking for the perfect fit.

"We often find that it's hard to match up the candidate with the requirements that we have" says Sweetwater Sound spokesperson Christopher Guerin.

Sweetwater is one of the biggest local companies around, doing business all over the world. But, if you want to land a job there, you've got to be in perfect harmony.

"We have a very sophisticated series of tests that we give kids from literally all over the country; not just younger people, but anyone who has a background in music technology" Guerin says.

Sweetwater gives sales engineer applicants nine tests. One gauges their knowledge of technology. The others measure an applicant's personality. Guerin says it's difficult to find someone who has a solid background in music and can make a sale.

"You have to pass a very sophisticated technology test just to get an interview" he tells WFFT.

But despite the intricate job application process, Guerin says they're very successful in filling these jobs.

"In fact we're growing them at a very high rate" he says.

Sweetwater currently has around 500 employees and plans to add hundreds more over the next decade. The company recently announced a multi-million dollar expansion. Sweetwater will add 110,000 square feet and create around 300 new jobs.
