Fort Wayne Community Schools sent a letter home letters to parents Monday afternoon re-assuring students about school safety.
FWCS tells WFFT it began reviewing its safety procedures following the Connecticut shooting and has instructed school administrators to make sure they are in compliance with district procedures.
According to a district spokesman, all visitors to FWCS schools must be 'buzzed' into school buildings and asked to sign-in before entering the school. FWCS says it has installed security cameras and has security experts on staff.
