Fort Wayne police raided a business and a home Thursday afternoon on suspicion of drug manufacturing charges.

They say the business owners were making and distributing the synthetic drug 'Spice.'

WFFT was at both scenes Thursday.

So far police have taken several people into custody, but have not made any official arrests.

Neighbors of the raided house say the people who lived there seemed suspicious.

Today they stormed the B&B Distributors warehouse.

Inside the building on Speedway Drive, they found chemicals used to make the synthetic drug 'Spice.'

"It was a lengthy investigation. We have been trying very much so to tackle the issue of Spice and K2. As you know, over the summer months, and it continues... We were plagued with many incidents," says police spokesperson Raquel Foster.

Police did not say what chemicals or how much they found, but they also found documents suggesting distribution of the drug.

"We came in today hoping, like I said, to find any evidence of a manufacturing and distribution of the synthetic cannabinoids, we were also looking to see if there was any evidence that might exist to show that the business was distributing the product as well," Foster says.

The investigation led police to this house on Tillman Road, where police say the business owners lived.

Neighbors say they grew suspicious over the past few months, as a new fence, newly-paved driveway, and expensive cars showed up in front of the house.

"We've been observing them and with their activities up there a little bit. They built a brand-new fence, put a lot of money into a parking lots. And muscle cars too," says neighbor Warren Crawfis.

"I'd seen a whole lot of cars going in and out there, and those cars would come back later," says neighbor James Gates.

Several weeks ago, police investigated a robbery and shooting at the same house.

Neighbors say it all makes sense.

"Who has that kind of money? And where are they getting it? That's all I can say," Crawfis says.

Fort Wayne police have not released the names of those taken into custody.
We'll continue to update you with details as they become available.
