DEKALB COUNTY, Indiana (WFFT) - Indiana State Police have confirmed 45 year-old Ryan Turner of Butler, Indiana died this morning in a two-car crash just south of Spencerville.
Police say just after 8:30 a.m. two cars were involved in a head-on collision on State Road One. Sergeant Ron Galaviz with the Indiana State Police says there were a total of four people involved in the accident. 13 year-old Aiyanna Mills of Fort Wayne was critically injured.
Investigators are working to determine a cause of the crash. They believe one of the cars may have crossed the double-yellow line causing a head-on collision.
Sergeant Galaviz told WFFT, "We caution people, any weather condition whether it's sunny in June or wet like today you need to always be cognicient of your driving behavior and the driving conditions that you're in."
The man who died was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police say wet and windy road conditions may have contributed to the crash but driver error was likely to blame.
