retailer sells Powerball ticket worth $40,000 Wednesday's estimated jackpot
swells to $151 million INDIANAPOLIS - One Powerball ticket purchased at a retailer in
Fort Wayne matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball number in
last night's drawing and is worth $40,000 as a result. The
winning ticket was purchased at Meijer at 5909 Illinois Road in Fort Wayne. The
holder of the ticket added the Power Play option
for an extra dollar which increased the standard $10,000 prize to $40,000. The
winning Powerball numbers last night were: 3-22-26-41-49 PB:18. No one
nationwide matched all six numbers, which has allowed Wednesday's Powerball
jackpot to grow to an estimated $151 million. The
mission of the Hoosier Lottery is to maximize net income for the state in a
socially-responsible manner. In fiscal year 2012, the Hoosier Lottery
generated $211 million in surplus revenue which was used to significantly
reduce the motor vehicle excise tax for all Hoosier drivers and also
supported the pension funds for retired Indiana teachers, police and
firefighters. Player prizes for the fiscal year totaled $533 million and $60
million was earned by Indiana retailers on the sale of Hoosier Lottery
products.
