A woman is dead after a  multi-vehicle crash on U.S Highway 24 in Paulding county.

Several truck drivers involved in the crash, as well as the Ohio State Highway Patrol say poor visibility from fog is to blame for the 14 vehicle pile-up.

"There was all this fuel spilling out and I thought I got to get out of here," said Doug Bair, a driver involved in the crash.

Doug Bair was in his truck trapped in the wreckage when he noticed the vehicle he struck was leaking ethanol.

"I just rolled out my window and crawled out of the window and got out," said Bair.

Bair escaped unharmed and considers himself lucky.

"It jack knifed me around to where I came to a stop and fortunately it wasn't as bad as a lot of these other trucks," said Bair.

Ohio State Highway Patrol says the driver who died was driving on county road 87 and didn't yield at the intersection of U.S Highway 24.

"She pulled out into the intersection and the fog was heavy and the truck nailed her and dragged her 300 yards," said Bair.

Harry Suddon says intense fog caused him to loose control of his truck.

"You never know what can happen in a split second you got to be on top of it all the time," said Suddon.

"It seems like people are less cautious when its fog opposed to snow or ice," said Bair.
