Faced with flood damages and don’t know where to turn to? Recovery specialists are now here in Allen County and ready to get you the assistance you need. “Specialists from FEMA, Small Business Administration and state representatives are on hand to meet with flood victims” says FEMA spokesperson Kerry Sullivan. This includes any damage that occurred due to flooding back in March. And whether the damage was major or not Sullivan says the best advice is to apply anyway. Kamari MBwelera was one of the over dozen applicants who came to the center today. His basement saw damage after flooding two months ago. And he admits he hadnt realized that such assistance was available. "My friend told me about this. It just hadn’t crossed my mind that something like this was available.” The Allen County Disaster Center has already seen more people today than seen over a two week period in Noble County. Disaster victims are urged to register before visiting a disaster relief center. You can do so by either heading online to www.disasterassistance.gov or calling toll free 1800-621-FEMA. The Allen County Disaster Center will be open tomorrow through Thursday from 9AM-7PM.
