Willows of Coventry Fire Finding

By: FOX Fort Wayne News
Updated: June 10, 2009
Fort Wayne fire investigators maintain that last January’s fire at the Willows of Coventry Apartments was not suspicious. Fire officials say the fire was caused by an electrical problem, and was not started with gasoline or some other accelerant. Investigators were prompted to make the statement after an independent laboratory reported traces of accelerant at the fire scene. Fire Chief Peter Kelly says the residue was actually from the fumes of the departments gas-powered fans and chainsaws, and not evidence of arson.
