Indiana State Police are warning of portable methamphetamine labs that look like regular soda bottles. Indiana is ranked in the top five meth producing states in the country. Noble County is the top meth producing county in the state. Soda bottles can now be used as meth labs. That includes 20 oz. or liter bottles. They are often left in fields or on the road while the meth cooks or disposed of after the meth has been used. People often pick them up thinking they are regular bottles. However, the chemicals in the bottle are severely dangerous and can cause burns in the lungs or on your body. Trooper Andy Smith is on the Indiana State Polices Meth Suppression Unit. He deals with meth problems in several counties in N.E. Indiana. Smith estimates hes been called to clean up about 50 labs since last April. The Meth Suppression Unit is able to operate because of federal grant money. If you believe you may have found a meth lab call the meth tip line below. METH TIP LINE: 1-800-453-4756
