If you think traffic is bad while driving on the road in a car, how about while driving on the road in a tractor?
Youve heard of car enthusiasts, motorcycle enthusiasts, but tractor enthusiasts?
“When youre traveling 60-miles-an-hour you dont see much do you? When you travel 30-miles-an-hour you see twice as much” says Tractor Trek Coordinator Ron Bywaters.
For the next three months, fourteen Aussies have a tractor to call home. The group has been traveling around Australia in tractors like these for the past ten years.
“Weve been to the northern most point, the southern most point, all around and we thought ‘no one has been across America yet” says Neville Thompson.
Meet the Chamberlain Champion 95 tractor. It’s the fastest production tractor in Australia.
The first thing youll notice is that vehicles in Australia, the wheel is on the right side. Also its a little bit noisy, so headphones are a must. Oh and seatbelts…nope, no seatbelts in these tractors.
So has this group encountered any crazy drivers here in America? Surprisingly the answer is “no.”
They go by the name ‘Transworld Tractor Treks” and their main goal is to meet as many people as they can and exchange their ideas and experiences.
And ultimately they want to convince Americans to visit Australia. To find out more on their journey, read their daily diary, and see where they are headed next, head to transworldtractortreks.com
