A two-year-old Fort Wayne girl is in serious condition after being run over by a van.

Police say Cheyanne Nelson was run over at approximately 4:30 p.m. behind her home just off of Coldwater Road. They say the girl's grandfather had pulled a van behind the girl’s apartment complex to load up a back bench seat. Police say Cheyanne walked behind the van and was run over. She was rushed to a local hospital in "extremely serious condition."

Police are calling this an accident. They say the driver of the van was taken to have his blood drawn, which is standard procedure.
