The Allen County Coroner confirmed today the remains found near Glenbrook Square Mall yesterday afternoon are human. A maintenance worker found the remains Tuesday afternoon while getting dirt from a wooded area. He describes having found a skull broken into six pieces. It happened on Fernhill Avenue. Police have contacted anthropologists from IU Bloomington to help in the identification process. Police will first try to identify the age and gender of the person whose remains were found. Next they will seek to determine how long the remains were lying at the location they were found. Once they have that information police will cross-reference it with missing persons who match the description and time frame.
