Jim many people can remember exactly where they were when they heard about the attack. Many of the children at today's Memorial Service were too young to remember. But they are not too young to understand its meaning.

Eight years ago an attack on America launching our nation into pain that still lingers. Today these young students recognize the losses of that day.

((Jim Huth / Principle, Image Master Academy)) "We wanted to take the time to help them remember and see the significance of this day and think about what it means to live in this country."

((Anthony Bova / P.E. Teacher Imagine Master Academy))  "I think it's important for all of our kids to remember what happened."

Many of these children are too young to remember, or weren't even born on September 11TH. They might not fully understand what 9 - 11 means, but they held the flag high in honor of those who lost their lives. The army being here, the ceremony, and listening to President Bush's words when he proclaimed Patriot Day, I think it's helpful to them. They will never have that same emotional feeling we all have by living through it, but at least they can understand it."

We actually have a few kids who were born on this day, who were a little emotional yesterday in gym class. I saw a few tears. The memory of 9 / 11 might be fading in some minds, but memorial services like this one remind us of its significance. "I think it says maybe we should learn from our children sometimes. It's a great message for all of us. It's their way of making sure those who died are not forgotten."
