A former Wayne High School principal is suing two of her old bosses and Fort Wayne Community Schools.

Joselyn Whitticker, an African-American woman, claims the district's superintendent, Dr. Wendy Robinson, and area administrator, Debra Fate Williams-Robbins, both of whom are also African-American women, treated “her differently based on race and/or sex.” That included removing Whitticker as Wayne High's principal in April 2008, according to the lawsuit.

Krista Stockman, FWCS spokeswoman, said she could not comment on pending litigation. But Stockman did provide a timeline of Whitticker's recent employment at FWCS.

According to FWCS documents, Whitticker taught at North Side High School last year after being removed as principal at Wayne High. During that time she still received her administrative salary. This year the district decided not to renew her administrative contact. Whitticker retired at the end of June.

The lawsuit states Whitticker wants her job back and back wages. She also wants punitive damages.

Whitticker refused to comment on the lawsuit.
