This year businesses are turning the Allen County Memorial Coliseum ‘green.’ The Fort Wayne Home & Garden Show is in town all this weekend. It’s the largest event of its kind in the area, with over 650 exhibits. It attracts more than 50,000 people each year! With many more people these days staying closer to home, and looking for a way to stretch a buck, companies are showing off products which still provide comfort, but are also cost-effective, not to mention good for the environment. FOX Fort Wayne met up with representatives from Garden Vigor, a new company that will show you how to get healthy and go organic by heading to your backyard.  The goal of Garden Vigor is to empower people to grow their own food to feed themselves, and also to save money. “So many things that are in the store are so expensive and they're not locally grown. They're grown in Mexico, and South America. And a lot of people don't want to do that. They prefer to grow their own, freeze it and have it available whenever they want” says Diana Duncan of Garden Vigor, Inc. FOX Fort Wayne also found a product that will ease your utility bill and also improve your lawn. It’s called a rain barrel.  “With the rain barrels, you store (water) in the barrel then slowly release it back where you’d like it in the lawn, around your garden, by using a hose. It’s better for your vegetable garden, better for your plants and flowers and that won't cost you anything. It's free, from the skies” says Matt Jones, a Water Resource Education Specialist.  The Fort Wayne Home & Garden Show runs through Sunday, February 28. The following are the hours for this weekend: Saturday, February 27: 10AM-9PMSunday, February 28: 11AM-5PM Admission:Adults- $10.00Children under 15- FreeSeniors 62 and over- $6.00
