A large blood stain is all that's left after a shooting that killed 23 year old Wade Reader.
It happened in the Canterbury Apartment complex around 3:15 Thursday morning.
Raquel R. Foster, with the Fort Wayne Police Department says “Officers on the scene found the body behind that apartment building in the 5200 block of Stone Hedge Blvd. They located a shooting victim.”
The suspected shooter is Matthew Pufahl. Detectives took him into custody Thursday afternoon at a local law office.
Reader and Pufahl had an ongoing feud for a couple weeks. Foster says “What we learned was that the suspect and the victim were acquaintances and they had encountered one another at a bar in Leo Crossing Plaza.” After leaving the bar they met up at Canterbury Apartments in the 5200 block of Stonehedge Blvd, where Phfahl allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Reader.
Reader was pronounced dead at the hospital. It's unknown what the two were fighting about.
The coroner's office says this is the Seventh homicide in the city limits. It's the eight in the county.
